I was doodling the other day, the way I do a lot, and came up with a few America-themed doodles. (Complete with a ‘Merica one to let the bit of redneck in me out.) I knew they’d be perfect to combine with some red, white and blue, and collaborating with my friend Mary Beth from Annapolis & Company┬áseemed perfect. She recently took some stunning patriotic photos and sent me a few to work with…voila! America the Beautiful desktop backgrounds for y’all, just in time for the Fourth! Enjoy! And here’s to lots more collabs, Mary Beth!

  1. Love this is collaboration! Also, I have a bamboo tablet, but whenever I use it, it looks like a fourth grader wrote something. Can you give me some tips on how to use the tablet? Do you do your designs on paper first and then trace them on the tablet? I have no clue!

    1. Ooh, maybe I should do a tutorial? My trick is practicepracticepractice! And sometimes it helps to zoom in. Also, write naturally, quick the way you do on paper. I usually write the word 5-10 times before I’m satisfied though!
